Your Gifts Help Us Serve Others
You can now donate and manage your donations through our secure Web Pay giving site. Electronic gifts are fast and secure, and they reduce administrative costs, allowing more of every dollar to fund the important work we are called to do.
You DO NOT need to sign in to make a donation. You will have the option of creating an account and password at the end of your transaction. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Some of the books we're always reading (the Bible), have read, or are planning to read soon here at Good Shepherd. Our next book club book is Atul Gawande's "Being Mortal". Add it to your reading list and join us to discuss when the Book Club meets again in September.
People of faith are called to care for the earth. May we care for the environment every single day by making better choices in our consumption of natural resources, reducing the waste we create, and advocating for greener practices and policies in business and government. Good Shepherd's Cancer Support Group will meet this coming Thursday, April 26th for prayer and mutual support. If you or a loved one are experiencing cancer, or if you've recently gone through treatment or are facing treatment soon, then this group is open to you. They meet the fourth Thursday of the month in our Small Group Room (a leader will greet you at the door and show you the way). Group starts at 6 PM. All are welcome.
This Sunday, April 21, at GSLC: We celebrate our Good Shepherd, Jesus, and welcome Bishop Greg Busboom who will preach and lead worship. Worship begins at 9 AM. Come join the flock for communion, prayer, and singing! "Ewe" are welcome here! #elca #champaignurbana
Sunday, April 14, at GSLC: If we could gather on a beach, we would! Instead, we'll hear about Jesus making breakfast on the beach for his disciples after his resurrection. Worship begins at 9 AM and will also be livestreamed on our website. Sunday School, Dwelling Together Small Group, and Adult Forum will round out the morning at 10:15 AM. #elca #champaignurbana
It is with both deep sorrow and great hope in the resurrection that we share the news of Shirley Swanson's death. Please keep Deb and the whole family in your prayers. Arrangements are still being decided and we will share details once we know them through appropriate channels.
Almighty God, source of all mercy and giver of comfort, graciously tend those who mourn, that casting all their sorrow on you, they may know the consolation of your love. Good Shepherd, enfold Shirley with your tender care, that she might see You face to face and rejoice in Your presence forever. Amen.
This Sunday, April 7, at GSLC: the Easter celebration continues! Worship at 9 AM and Cross+Gen intergenerational Sunday School at 10:15 AM. #elca #champaignurbana
