Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Welcome!

Pastor Tom Hillertz has accepted the call to be Pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Pastor Hillertz previously served American Lutheran Church in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Prior to his service at American Lutheran Church, Pastor Hillertz served an ELCA congregation in Wisconsin. The ministry is a second career for Pastor Hillertz, having worked in the private sector. Many Good Shepherd members had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Hillertz and his wife, Wendy, at a devotional service in mid-December. We look forward to getting to know more about Pastor Hillertz, Wendy, and their family. Pastor Hillertz begins worship services at Good Sheperd on Sunday, February 19, 2012. Bishop Roth, officiates at the Installation Service for Pastor Tom Hillertz on April 15, 2012 at 9am. There will only be one worship service that day. Brunch and Fellowship will follow the Installation.

As Pastor Hillertz said in his devotional sermon, "Come and See!". Let the word go out that Pastor Tom Hillertz is arriving soon! Are you thirsting for the message of hope and salvation for all through the Grace of God? Come and See ... and be refreshed in the Word of the Lord!

Lenten Worship

Ash Wednesday Service will be February 22, 7 pm. Every Wednesday from February 29 through March 28, there will be a Lenten Supper at 5:30 pm and a Lenten Service at 7 pm. Please join us to observe the season of Lent.

About Good Shepherd

Community is critical to human life and well-being. We need others to support us, nurture us, and challenge us. We find community in units as small as the family and as large as the planet. In a few seconds' thought you can certainly name any number of communities that are part of your life. A church community can fulfill many needs in unique ways. Supportive relationships, spiritual growth, the challenge to reflect, guidance for daily life and opportunities to serve are among the dimensions of one's life that a church can impact. At Good Shepherd Lutheran Church people of all ages find the community they are seeking. You can read some of their stories through links from this page. Better yet, you can join these caring folks by visiting us and, perhaps, by becoming a member of this faith community. A warm welcome awaits you at Good Shepherd. Come and learn how the teachings of Jesus Christ expressed in his life, death and resurrection can enrich your daily existence. Join us on the journey of faith and life.
