Pastor
Donna Hacker Smith
The Rev. Donna Hacker Smith became pastor of Good Shepherd in February of 2002 after serving parishes in St. Louis (Missouri), Freeport (Illinois), and rural Forreston (Illinois). Since being ordained in 1983, she has served beyond the parish by working with candidates for professional church work, leading retreats and special events for the Women of the ELCA on the local, synodical and national levels, and speaking in many special settings. Pastor has served on the Board of the Division for Ministry and also the Board of Directors of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. Pastor Donna has published numerous articles in Lutheran Woman Today, the magazine of the Women of the ELCA, devotional writings in ELCA publications and three freestanding Bible study books. Married to (retired) Judge Lawrence A. Smith, Jr., she is the stepmother of seven and step grandmother of fourteen. Aside from shepherding the flock , she enjoys reading mysteries, tending to Hercule, her cat, and cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Tiger Woods.

Parish Secretary
Kay Matthews
Kay Matthews has been parish secretary since June 2002. Prior to coming to Good Shepherd, she served for 31 years as secretary at a church in Urbana and four and a half years at a church in Indianapolis. She is a graduate of Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, IL with a degree in secretarial science. Married to Martin Matthews, she is stepmother of two, step grandmother of six, and step great grandmother of seven. Their household includes their energetic dog, Herbie.
