Your Gifts Help Us Serve Others
You can now donate and manage your donations through our secure Web Pay giving site. Electronic gifts are fast and secure, and they reduce administrative costs, allowing more of every dollar to fund the important work we are called to do.
You DO NOT need to sign in to make a donation. You will have the option of creating an account and password at the end of your transaction. Thank you so much for your generosity.
How long have you been a part of Good Shepherd? Twenty-five years.
Finish the sentence: Discipleship is sharing God’s love... What are you passionate about? How did you discover that passion? I have a passion for community and feeding people. My grandparents were a huge part of my life, and they lived their lives with faith and family at the forefront. My goal is to follow in their footsteps.
What should people know about the community service work/work that you do? I don’t do anything extraordinary. I simply believe in showing up and doing my best to pitch in.
What is one thing you’re deeply grateful for right now? That my sons are growing up to be loving and kind men.
What about your work (volunteer or paid) is the most fulfilling to you? I am a mental health therapist. I believe that every person is created in God’s image and has amazing potential. I hope I help people find ways to love themselves and others.
Why are you a part of this congregation? I came here because I was raised in the ELCA church and thought I would “check it out”. I have had two church families in my life, and I am grateful for both of them.
What is a favorite memory you have here at GSLC? Trips to El Salvador for service and Houston and New Orleans for the youth gatherings. Also, being surrounded by sweet “kids years”, I helped with VBS.
Who do you think we should know more about here at Good Shepherd? Who would you recommend that we interview/talk to? Carol Manley as she has welcomed so many people to this church, including me many years ago.

The disciples ask Jesus to teach them how to pray. In many ways, we're still asking the same question. How should we pray? Why should we pray? What should we be praying for? Join us for worship this Sunday, July 27, as we praise our God, explore these questions, and, of course, spend time in prayer. Worship begins at 9 AM. All are welcome - all the time. #elca #champaignurbana #savoyillinois
A special summer worship experience awaits! Join us indoors (in the AC!) on Sunday, August 3, for guitar-led worship with favorite hymns, activities for children, food and coffee, and conversation and communion around tables in the Fellowship Hall. Normal worship time - 9-10 AM - but a different end of the building! (We had planned to have worship outdoors on the 3rd, but with the current weather pattern, we're keeping it relaxed and casual, but moving indoors!) As always, all are welcome! #elca #champaignurbana #savoyillinois
The Cancer Support Group meets on the fourth Thursday of each month from 6-7 pm in the Small Group Room. All are welcome! It is a safe, supportive place where people can talk about their cancer, cry if they need to, share ideas and information about treatment, local resources, etc. and we share a prayer or devotion at the end of the hour.
Mostly, it is what it says it is - a support group. We've got two moms with young children and an octogenarian so you see the range of ages and needs. Some attendees are members of the congregation and some are women who have been brought and supported by members of the congregation. We don't ask about religious affiliation - it doesn't matter!
The group is for anyone dealing with cancer in any way - a personal diagnosis, in treatment, in remissions, supporting a loved one or friend through cancer. We have 4-5 people attending each month; there is no obligation, you just come when you can or when you need to be there. #champaignurbana #savoyillinois #elca
